Yoga is not just a matter of performing contortions, it is a complete system of development - physical, mental and spiritual.

Balwyn Yoga Centre teaches physical or Iyengar Yoga. Most people need some physical improvement and yoga is an effective way to loosen stiff bodies and increase fitness and wellbeing.

However, Iyengar Yoga is entirely non competitive and progress is individual, with each student receiving back what they put into it.

It is not a religion and does not conflict with anyone's personal beliefs, but offers a greater enjoyment of life, increased strength and flexibility.

You will learn exercises that teach you the correct way to breathe and relax. If practiced regularly and carefully, these exercises will help any person (regardless of age) to increase their vitality, overcome fatigue, adjust their weight, help control insomnia and keep old age at bay.
